APF's Parent Education Masterclass: Siblings

This presentation explores the experience of siblings of children with autism across childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. It covers how to share diagnostic information, establish family culture, and promote healthy communication. Emotional impacts such as jealousy, pride, frustration, or guilt are acknowledged. Families are encouraged to set realistic expectations, avoid role confusion, and foster positive sibling interactions. Siblings can also play supportive roles in interventions, modeling language and play while maintaining their own identities.
